A safety fuse valve consists of two brass contacts between which a lead and tin alloy rod is inserted, mounted on an insulating base and enclosed in a cylindrical container. The rod’s size is such that it will melt if the strength of the current is greater than double the indicated values of 10 amps and 15 amps.
